September 22, 2011

Hi folks - just thought I'd better update so you didn't think we'd disappeared off the planet!
Still ticking along here - ten days until the baby is due. I have a midwife appointment this afternoon, but I think the baby is very happy where she is because she's showing no signs of making an appearance any time soon.
We're just about organised now - just a case of staying on top of the washing and keeping the fridge stocked up in case we have to make a dash for the hospital!
Charlie is on good form, and is getting more and more excited as the days go by.
He's still really enjoying being in Year 3, and seems to be doing well so far.
I was summoned up to the school again this morning though, because he was playing football with his friends at playtime and the ball hit him in the tummy, clipping his pacemaker.
I went up to check him over, and he seemed fine, but I rang the hospital to see if it was ok to leave him, or if he needed to be brought in.
The liaison nurse checked with the consultant, and he was happy for Charlie to stay in school, so long as he didn't start feeling faint, sick or dizzy.
He was fine though, and the teachers will keep a close eye on him for the rest of the day.
As I left, he was working on the computers with his classmates, studying the human body - I guess he probably knows more about hearts than all the other kids in his class put together!
I think that's about it for now - we've just been plodding along, getting organised and making the most of our last few days (weeks?!) as a family of three before our newest addition arrives.
I'll let you know once anything exciting happens!

Now i am the one checking for news every day! so very happy for you all. Charlie will be such an awesome big brother. Praying that delivery is as painless as humanly possible and that all goes well. these precious children get all the hugs and kisses that our angels are not getting from us! I keep wondering when Zander will say, stop kissing me Nana! Jolene seems to be doing well. the tears still come but that is so normal.
