May 1, 2008

Well, here we are into May... this year is really flying by. Charlie's been quite excited at the prospect of May Day because they've been talking about it a lot at Playschool.
In fact he's been running around the house all morning yelling 'Mayday, Mayday' at the top of his voice... I've yet to explain that it means something other than the first day of May!
We've just come back from Playschool, and our little superstar was the May King in the May Day procession. He was very proud of himself, and wore a cloak and waistcoat along with a flowery crown he made himself! He and the May Queen led all the other children out, sat in their special sparkly thrones, and did a May dance too!
Charlie managed really well with the dancing (in fact, I think part of the reason he was May King was so he didn't have to do quite so much dancing.) He was a little bit puffed at the end of his big dance with the May Queen, but he kept going to the end and coped really well.
I'm attaching a pic of the May King himself, and a bit of video of his dancing! (Boy, he's going to hate me for this when he's 18!)
Today was another proud day for me - watching him having so much fun with his friends, and managing to keep up with them all was great.
