As requested by Charlie...

...One 'Supreme Dalek' birthday cake!
Bearing in mind it was thrown together in a couple of hours, I thought it turned out pretty well in the end! Charlie was thrilled to bits with it (particularly the sparkler gun), which is the main thing after all!
Unfortunately I only realised after the party that I hadn't taken a proper photo of the cake - by which time a large portion of it had been lopped off for the party bags. But fortunately for me, my sister-in-law (aka my nominated cake chopper-upper) had cut the back off the cake, so it still looked ok!
Charlie had also snaffled a little chunk off the end of one of the blocks of black, glittery icing holding the candles... but never mind, eh - you get the idea! (Although I have to admit, I had something of a panic attack when I saw the colour of his lips AFTER he'd been munching on black icing - it took a good five minutes AND copious baby wipes before I'd reassured myself that his sats hadn't dropped through the floor...)
Here he is having a turn at the Smartie game - sucking as many Smarties as he could onto his straw and dropping them into a cup in the space of a minute. Chas did well with seven, but his best friend Sam won hands down with a mighty 13 Smarties! The party went really well, and the kids seemed to enjoy themselves - although ten children, a baby and a handful of grown-ups makes our house feel VERY small and VERY noisy!
Charlie had a great time with his friends, he was given some wonderful presents, and all the kids enjoyed watching the fireworks at the end. (Please don't look at all the sticky fingerprints on the conservatory windows...)

So here's the birthday boy doing the important bit - blowing out his candles! Make a wish Charlie-Barley!

That's all for now, folks!
