Charlie's back!

For a couple of hours this evening, we've had our boy back! He had a
fairly sleepy day, but after Pete and I got back from having our tea,
Charlie and Nanny were having a lovely conversation, and Chas was his
usual cheeky self - deliberately dripping ice lolly juice on Pete's
arm, and actually laughing and smiling! He sounded like his usual self
- it was so good to hear his normal voice, rather than the sad little
whisper or pained whimpers from the past few days. We talked about
funny things he remembered, our friends from home, what we're going to
do once we're discharged.
We've still got a fair way to go, but this evening was precious. I
don't know how he'll feel tomorrow, but this is a truly wonderful day,
because it's the first day post-op that brought our boy back to us.
(Here's a pic of him playing with his iPod - see, he must be feeling
better! Amazing what a bit of food and no morphine can do for you!)

So delighted to hear Charlie's getting back to himself, and so soon - although I'm sure it feels like an eternity to you. Give him big kisses from us. XX

I'm crying with happiness reading this! Lovely pic! So glad he's back to Cheeky Charlie! Danny has asked if we can come and see Charlie in Birmingham. I said, it'd be nicer to see him when he's feeling better...and a bit nearer to us! lol. Hope you all have a good day tomorrow. Danny is worried for Charlie when his drains come out, bless him. He must remember that well :-(
Lots of love to you all,
Dave, Claire, Danny, Rebecca and Caitlyn
