St David's Day...

Well, today is St David's Day - the patron saint of Wales.
Fortunately now Charlie is at secondary school the whole 'dressing up' thing is a distant memory, but Rosie is just starting out...
She didn't want a Welsh lady outfit ('I don't want to wear one of those funny hats...') which is good, because I didn't really want to fork out for a costume that would only be worn once.
So Charlie's old rugby shirt has been pulled into service again! We have three Welsh rugby shirts in different sizes - two inherited from other people - so I'm hoping they'll last her through primary school!!
Charlie has an Eisteddfod at school today, so he's singing 'Men of Harlech' on his own, doing a rugby chant with his French class, and some sort of dance routine with his tutor group. (He told me last night that he was supposed to be dressed '80s style' for the dance - nothing like a bit of advance warning, Charlie... Cue frantic scrambling through his wardrobe. Suffice to say, we have no shell suits or similar - which is probably a good thing. We managed to find a neon patterned t-shirt and some jeans with ripped knees, so that's about as 80s as we got!!)
