June 10, 2007

Hello everyone! Well, I can hardly believe that Charlie's blog has had more than 1,000 visitors! (In fact, as I type this, he's running at 1,067 visitors!) To date, he's had visits from America, Canada, Spain, Romania, Switzerland, Australia and of course, the UK! It still amazes me that people on the other side of the world can log in and see what's going on in Charlie's world! It's wonderful to think that so many people now know about our little boy, and how well he's doing. We have heard from lots of people who are following a similar journey to ours, and it's good to know that he has been able to reassure so many people out there that life with HLHS can be great!
Just as a quick aside, Charlie's friend Danny is having his third-stage surgery for HLHS on Tuesday (June 12) - cancellations permitting. He's a bit older than Charlie, so we've been following his progress since before Charlie was even born. I know Danny and his parents, Claire and Dave, would be grateful for any prayers and positive thoughts on their behalf.
The sun has come out again here in Wales, so Charlie's been loving every minute of messing around in the garden, running around in shorts and sandals. We have a very busy few weeks coming up - Charlie has a teddy bears picnic, a playschool outing to the zoo, Grandpa's birthday, Father's Day (Can't wait to see Pete's face when he sees Charlie's carefully selected present!!) and of course, a plane ride to Portugal!!
I'm attaching a couple of pictures we took today - one of Charlie doing an impression of Posh Spice with the world's largest sunglasses (mind you, I have to say, there's a scary similarity with Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka!!) and another of Chas just chillin' in Nanny and Grandpa's garden!!

Please feel free to leave us a message - Charlie loves to hear from all his friends!!

Charlie is a beautiful, beautiful boy. You must be so proud. He looks stupendous!

My son was also born with a complex heart defect (TGA). It does a heart well to see other kiddos with cardiac challenges thrive so.

Hope all went well with Danny's surgery...
