Easter fun

We had a wonderful Easter Day yesterday with Nanny and Grandpa - a really relaxing day with lots of lovely food and chat! The weather was glorious and it felt like a proper Easter day.
Today (Easter Monday) we headed out to a local stately home for some more Easter fun. They were running an Easter bonnet/hat competition, an egg hunt, lots of games, a chance to make an Easter picture with lots of sticking and cutting, as well as a chance to wander around a fantastic old house.
The Easter Bunny was there waiting to welcome everyone at the house, and Charlie was thrilled to meet him at the main entrance!
We've been to the park around the house lots of times, but this is the first time we've actually been inside the house, and it was pretty spectacular.

We decided a bit of 'reduce, reuse and recycle' was the best plan, and brought out the Easter hat Charlie made for school last week for an encore!
All the staff at the house (who were wearing old-fashioned costumes) loved Charlie's hat - particularly the wobbly chickens on the top. Chas took this very seriously, and perfected a little head wiggle to show off the chickens to their best effect as he was on his way around the house.
Charlie really enjoyed the games and craft activities, and was really pleased when he heard that the Easter Bunny would be judging the Easter Bonnet competition.

I'll give you three guesses who won...

...It must have been that chicken wiggle! Have you ever seen such a big Easter egg? Charlie was tickled pink!
The little tea room was open at the house today, so we grabbed some lunch and then went for a play on the swings and slides in the house grounds.
It's been beautifully sunny again today, and Charlie's thoroughly enjoyed himself.
He thought you might like to see the stash of Easter goodies we've got to eat our way through...
Looks like the diet is on hold for a bit! I think we'll all be hitting the treadmill after we've scoffed this lot!
