I love this pic! It's an oldie, but a goodie! Can hardly believe how little Charlie was - this was a couple of days after we came home from hospital after his first surgery, so he'd have been about three weeks old. A much bigger, louder Charlie came bouncing into our bedroom this morning with a bag of Father's Day presents for Pete. We're off out for a Father's Day lunch in a few minutes, and then we're going to see my dad too. Happy Father's Day!
Welcome to Charlie's News! Charlie was born on November 5, 2003, minus the left side of his heart - a complex congenital heart defect known as Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. He had two open-heart surgeries in his first five months, and had his third stage Fontan completion in March 2010, aged six-and-a-half.
Charlie's heart is special - but not as special as he is!
