June 7, 2009

We've got wi-fi in our holiday cottage, so I thought I'd make the most of it and upload a few holiday snaps (see below).
Our first few days were spent in glorious sunshine, but unfortunately the weather's taken a bit of a nosedive since then.
We went to a butterfly farm today, which was hot and tropical, so if we closed our eyes we could almost believe we were in Barbados! We're still having a fab time though - in spite of the rain, wind and much-lower-than-average temperatures!

I won't ramble on long now, as the internet connection here is a bit sporadic - just to say that my dad really isn't doing too well. He and mum have settled happily into their new home, but Dad is struggling more and more with pain and mobility. He is finding it increasingly difficult to stand up, let alone walk around, because of the pain in his legs, hips and back. It is making day-to-day living very difficult for him and for Mum. He goes back to the hospital next week, so we are hoping that the doctors can do something to make him more comfortable. We anticipate his chemotherapy will be starting imminently. I know my parents would appreciate your thoughts and prayers, as they have a tough few months ahead of them. I'll keep you posted.

Anyway, I'll sign off for now, before the internet crashes. Fingers crossed the weather picks up tomorrow!

Great photos Ali! Glad you have had a bit of nice weather anyway.
Best wishes for your Dad - so sorry he is struggling.
