Goodnight, Dad.

My Dad went home to Heaven on Thursday, October 22 at 10.55pm.
He was at home, in his own bed, and my Mum, sister and I were with him as he went.
I miss my dad so much already, yet I can hardly believe he has gone.
I'll write more later, but I know so many of you have been checking in, so I wanted to post. We'd really appreciate your thoughts and prayers right now as it is a very difficult time.
It is a comfort to know that Dad is safe and happy now, and that the cancer no longer has any claim on him.
He promised me before he left that he would find Will when he arrived, and look after him for me. It makes me happy to think of my father and my son, together in a place more wonderful than we could ever imagine.
As my Dad said at Will's funeral service... 'He hasn't departed - he's arrived.'
I love you Dad, and I miss you so much already.
Sleep tight Daddy, I'll see you in the morning.

Your dad wouldn't have had to go looking Ali, I'm sure Will was right there beside you all waiting to lead the way for him and trying to ease the pain being felt by his lovely mum, nanny and auntie. Will and your Dad will continue to watch over all of you helping as much as they can to get you through this time (as much as poss in between playing football in heaven)! All my love to all of you, kelly xxxxxx

Your blogs really have let us know just how special your Dad is. I love to read about the things he and Charlie get up to so now I am wondering just what he and Will are doing!

You are all in our prayers. Sending you lots of hugs.

My heart is with you as you move through this new time without your dad. It's a rollercoaster - never knowing how you might be feeling one moment to the next. I don't have any advice - only that I understand.

How blessed that he is with your son in heaven! My mom is holding her own son, plus a grandson and granddaughter. Her arms are full.

Love from one who's one a similar journey.

I left the following comment on OHIH in response to you posting your sad news..In case you didn't see it..here it is:

PAC,
My heart just breaks for you. I lost my father and my oldest son to cancer. Cancer plain sucks and I hate it! I know there are no perfect words at a time like this..but please know that I am sending you lots and lots of loving vibes and strength for you to get through this oh sooo painful time. I am glad that you were able to be with your father and to comfort him right up until the end. Trust me, that time will mean more than anything to you in the coming months as you seek ways to soothe your aching heart. Hugs to you and your dear mother.. xo
