End of Day 3

Well, here we are at the end of Day Three, post-Fontan, and it still seems to be so far, so good. As I write, Charlie is sleeping peacefully, satting at 92-93% in air and starting to look a bit better. His morphine should be stopped tomorrow, so he should be more awake and less nauseous. He'll be given codeine instead to control his pain.
Hopefully we can encourage him to start eating tomorrow - he's going to need plenty of energy for when we set him loose on the ward with his drain trolley!
I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everybody for all your thoughts, prayers, good wishes, cards and messages of support so far - on the blog, on Heartline, on Facebook and by email, text, telephone and in person. We have been overwhelmed by everybody's kindness, and the outpouring of care and love towards our little boy. You are all carrying us through this stressful time, and we will always be grateful.

We are all so, so proud of u all, charlie really is being an absolute superstar and he is just an inspiration, so brave, as I said much of that is down to you and Pete, you are the ones that have spent the last 6 1/2 years preparing him for this, he went into hospital strong and confident and he's as lucky to have u as parents as you 2 are to have him as your beautiful son. I bet the hits on the blog will be through the roof so many friends and strangers are wearing out their refresh buttons checking up on him! much love xxxx
